Breastfeeding Education Class in Coffs Harbour

Like many first time Mums I was so focused on the birth of my baby that I completely overlooked breastfeeding. I highly recommend the Australian Breastfeeding classes which provide the most up-to-date research based information on breastfeeding. It’s difficult as a new parent when you are overwhelmed and are receiving conflicting advice. The classes are practical and informative so you will be confident in looking after your new baby.

The Australian Breastfeeding Association is running a Breastfeeding Education Class on Saturday the 14th March at Coffs Harbour Regional Botanic Gardens from 9:30am to 1:30pm. For more information and to register  go to https://www.breastfeeding.asn.au/classes

The best approach to preparing for a new baby is to surround yourself with supportive health professionals  who are going to listen to your concerns and respect your wishes. As a naturopath and nutritionist I can provide you with personalised nutritional and herbal medicine advice during pregnancy, recovery and breastfeeding. Check out my lactation cookie recipe which makes a wonderful gift for a new Mum http://www.aaryansmith.com/lactation-cookie-recipe/ Contact me on 0414 344 865 or info@aaryansmith.com to make your appointment today.

Colour Me Beetroot and Me Healthy Farm

Colour Me Beetroot and Me Healthy Farm are two businesses sharing the one beautiful shop in Coramba’s main street. The two businesses blend together seamlessly in this simply gorgeous shop. I honestly wanted to buy everything in the shop. The shop is filled with locally sourced vegetables and fruits, herbs, organic seeds for your vegie garden, small fruit trees, jewelry, home wares, crystals, teas and I can’t leave out the fridge at the front door packed with delicious homemade health foods.  To give you an idea I left with a raspberry plant, capsicum plant, coconut oil, eggs, and lunch.

I highly recommend the Coconut Wrap with Sunflower Seed Falafel and the Good Brew Kombucha Tea with Green Tea, Hibiscus and Lemongrass.

Early Morning Exercise in Nana Glen

I’m now happy that I dragged myself out of bed before the kids woke up this morning to attend my first Pilates core & stretching class with Orara Valley Fitness. Exercising in the fresh air, watching the light grow, listening to birds and gentle rain drops on the roof above us beats a gym any day for me.

Early morning exercise is one of the best ways to fit exercise into your day. It’s over and done with and the rest of the day is yours.

For more information about this class call Yvette 0439 620 820.

Flood Update for Nana Glen 27.01.15

Good Morning,

Great news is that at 8:06 am this morning the Edward Sharpe Bridge in Nana Glen was open and clear. The clinic is open today, but I advise all clients coming out today to be careful on the roads. There is nothing better that getting a massage on a rainy day in Coffs Harbour.

Yesterday evening at 5pm we took the opportunity with a gap in the weather to take a walk down to Edward Sharpe Bridge. It was completely flooded over and the paddocks were turned into wild rapids. The photos below are of yesterday evening.

Please never drive into flood waters or let your children play in flood waters.

Escape the house and book in for a massage. Call me on 0414 344 865 as there are still a few appointments available this week.
