Is massage safe during pregnancy?

For most pregnant women massage is not only safe but very therapeutic. Aaryan has provided pregnancy massage since 2003 and had the privilage of working for a midwife which gained her valuable clinical experience to safely provide massage for expectant morthers. Specialised Pregnancy Table

Aaryan has a specialised pregnancy massage table with removable sections so that you can safely lie on your front while baby is cradled in a padded sling. The sling can be adjusted to suit your changing body to ensure comfort and safety for you and baby. This table is very comfortable and takes the pressure of your back.

Why are my muscles so sore during pregnancy?

The tensions and pains you experience during pregnancy are often caused by the following changes:

  • natural weight gain placing extra burden on joints and tendons
  • the effects of the hormone relaxin on fibrous tissue
  • the shift in your centre of gravity

How long are the treatments?

You can choose from a 30 minute massage, 60 minute or a 90 minute massage. The amount of time you need will depend on your specific health needs.


Can I have a massage after I have my baby?

Once you feel ready and you have the all clear from your midwife, obstetrician or GP a massage is very beneficial. Breastfeeding, body changes and lack of sleep can leave you feeling sore and tense. Aaryan’s specialised pregnancy table has removable breast pads so that if you are breasfteeding you can lie down comfortably. Baby is more than welcome to come along with you.
